What does life look like in a place where the anti-abortion movement has made access to legal abortion nearly impossible? Since the passing of Roe v. Wade over four decades ago, the self-labeled “pro-life” movement has won significant legal, cultural and political battles. Now, the stigma of abortion is prolific in the American South and women in poverty and women of color are particularly vulnerable. These women find it difficult to access reproductive healthcare, especially in places like Mississippi where the anti-abortion faction is strongest. Set against the backdrop of the fight over the last abortion clinic in Mississippi, this film is an intimate, first-of-its-kind look inside the issues surrounding abortion through three women who stand on all sides of this debate and live at a turning point for reproductive healthcare in America.
